Mike Plante credits the summers he spent with this family on the road in a motorhome for his love of the outdoors.
“I snored a lot, so typically I was sleeping in a tent most nights. We all spent a lot of time sitting around campfires,” recalls Plante, the family member now managing Travel Country Outfitters in Alamonte Springs, FL. “And we were always reading guidebooks and going hiking and fishing. We were extremely lucky to get to do that together for a decade or so.”

Wend Magazine is a physical publication put out by Wend every month. The magazine consists of great articles on the outdoors, environment, travel and other inspiring stories. I've read the magazine online from their website for a while now, it tends to nurture my artistic side with it's stunning photographs of far off places. In addition to their great magazine they also have a blog on their website which posts some funny articles poking fun at sports blunders, or news on environmental issues.

I'm continuing our Follow Friday blog entry, this time on "Art of Backpacking".
Art of Backpacking is a great little blog for the people aspiring to be and already are backpackers. The writers are very well traveled backpackers who give a global perspective to the hobby. As well as blog posts on just backpacking, they also post a lot of random good posts like "Week In Pictures: Earth Day." On top of that they have other parts of their sites that display information like art, destination, food/drinks, gear, green, tips/planning.

I'm continuing our Follow Friday blog entry, this time on The Adventure Blog.
Known only as "Kung Fu Jedi" the writer of The Adventure Blog takes a lot of time out of his day to search and report on all the adventures around the globe. You can expect to hear about the people going to the poles, Everest, rowing the Atlantic, and even the crazy ones like his latest blog: Adventurers Follow Captain Bligh Into The Unknown.
Follow Friday - The Gear Junkieby The Brit

Every Friday on Twitter, I do a thing called "Follow Friday." For Follow Friday I recommend people to those that follow me, that they should follow. Really, it's just a publicity stunt for everyone in the world to follow everyone, but it does occasionally work when you stumble upon the cool people out there (a.k a. not Brittany Spear's twitter page). So since I happen to do both Twitter and the Blog, I am going to start a "Follow Friday" on the blog. Basically, I'm going to recommend, describe, and support a different blog I consistently read each week in an effort to expand your online outdoor reading. So enjoy!
