In this case "better" focus on the beefy YKK zipper around the lid and using our Hydroseal-200Ž coated fabric. The primary advantages of the zipper are that 1) the closure keeps out dirt and moisture a whole lot better than drawcord tops, and 2) it allowed us to do away with the floppy end caps that are always getting tangled in the compression straps. Attached very solidly along one side, the lid can be kneeled on or used as a handle to stabilize the sack while stuffing. Since the ends are essentially square, the compressed, rectangular load will pack more efficiently than a cylinder.
