The Petzl Ascension Ergonomic Handled Ascender is updated for even greater performance and strength. Made with a strong, lightweight aluminum frame; the Ascension features a chrome-plated steel cam for better efficiency when sliding the cam along the rope. This Petzl cam features angled teeth and self-cleaning slot that securely grips the rope (even when icy or muddy) and a lower wear area for increased durability.
The Petzl Ascension provides an ergonomic, molded grip that is wider at the bottom and keeps your hand from sliding down the frame. Now recessed into the frame, the trigger to open/close the cam eliminates accidentally opening the cam while in use and maintains one-handed manageability.
As always, the Petzl Ascension features mono-frame construction (eliminates weaknesses); multiple attachment points for different uses (self-belaying, haul systems, etc.); safety catch that keeps the cam from opening too far; and a 1 cm secondary hole at the bottom to accommodate a screw link for attaching aiders, slings, etc.
