The Arcteryx Knee Caps provide lightweight and flexible hard-shell protection for your knees. Designed specifically for ice climbers and tele-skiers, these knee guards are made from EV 50 (Evazote 50) and Kydex for strength and comfort. EV 50 is the main closed cell foam used in ArcTeryx's packs and harnesses for the hip belts, shoulder straps, backpanels, and lumbar pads. It vigorously opposes compression damage and will not freeze at any temperature that you can live through. Imported from England, it is the best closed cell foam available. Kydex is an extremely durable acrylic/PVC alloy, with great impact resistance to counter extreme levels of abuse. It is used in ArcTeryx's monoframe construction for their AC2 packs.
