The Montrail Comp Womens are comfortable enough to keep your foot cushioned over a great many miles, yet still are flexible enough for when you need to make a quick scramble. An updated version of the old Montrail classic, the TRS Comp, this shoe has a roomy toe box and a super-sculpted midfoot. You can control your heel cup with the variable-tension lacing system. The Comps have great traction with its aggressive heel tread, large smearing forefoot lugs, and Gryptonite GT Compound. The Comp has remained a popular shoe since 1995. That reputation stems from a sculpted fit that cradles your foot. The leather construction and high-ankle collar feel supportive without being stiff and boardy. This comfortable upper sits on the original TerraFlex™ platform which is popular for its low and wide forefoot and deeply cupped heel. Although the plate is so tough that you cannot feel sharp rocks under your feet, the platform creates the sensation that you are closer to the ground and, therefore, have better ground "feel."
