It also adds a Gore-Tex bootie for waterproof and breathable protection from the elements. A Trail Shield running the full length of these Montrail shoes protects the foot from rough terrain and provides support during long periods of running, hiking and walking. The perimeter midsole of the Hardrock provides support for your midfoot and also controls pronation. The Gryptonite "sticky rubber" outsole offers great traction on wet and dry surfaces from rock and mud to grass and dirt.
