Because the Mountaineering Socks are made from high quality merino wool, they won't itch or shrink, guaranteed. A 2 x 1 rib welt top with nylon holds the Smartwool sock up and in place. High density padding assures a comfortable, snug fit and shin protection. High density padding against the instep protects against lace pressure. A flat knit reduces compression and provides a better fit and maximimum ventilation. With very high density padding, the Smartwool Mountaineering sock also cushions against shock, blisters and abrasions.
